Meet the SLP

Samantha Enns, RSLP, M.Cl.Sc., S-LP(C)

Speech-Language Pathologist

Hi! I’m Sam and I love talking about talking.

  • As an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) here in Manitoba, I'm known for my infectious energy and enthusiasm that just won't quit! My journey has taken me to various settings, from schools and daycares to preschools, homes, public health, and even speech sessions in the park (a personal favourite!). I'm on a mission to infuse speech and language goals into everyday interactions, play, and routines because, let's face it, therapy should be fun, meaningful, and uniquely tailored!

While I find joy in many aspects of this field, one of the things I love most is working with children and their families. I'm particularly passionate about assessment and treatment in the following areas:

    Early Intervention (Ages 0-3)

    Pediatric Speech Sound Disorders

Stuttering in Children, Youth and Teens

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Methods

Supporting Authentic Communication for Autistic Children

My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices and combines a strengths-based, child-led philosophy—all sprinkled with a generous dose of fun! Building relationships and connecting with kids is at the heart of everything I do.

I thrive on collaboration, especially with parents. Together, we navigate the journey of helping your child reach their speech and language goals. I'm committed to ensuring you fully grasp your child's challenges, potential causes, and how we can all pitch in to make a difference.

If you're a parent of a child facing speech, language, or overall communication difficulties, reach out today! I'm here to help and would love to connect with you.

My Services

  • Initial Consultation

Let's kick things off with a friendly phone or virtual chat to dive into your child's communication skills, your concerns, goals, and any questions you might have. It's a chance for us to get to know each other better! Plus, this is the perfect opportunity for you to see if my services are the right fit. And the best part? It’s free!

  • Assessment

Let's dive into understanding your child's communication skills together! Through assessment, we'll explore your child’s unique strengths and needs. After our session, I'll send you resources to deepen your understanding of your child's communication needs and ways to support their speech and language development.

  • Personalized Therapy

Therapy sessions are tailored to your child's unique speech and language goals! My engaging sessions, driven by your child's interests, make learning effective and enjoyable. For young children, parents are incorporated into sessions! After each session, we'll collaborate on a home plan integrating skills into your daily routines.

  • AAC Services

AAC stands for Augmentative & Alternative Communication. AAC is a term used to refer to the tools and technology that help people communicate if they can’t rely on speaking. As someone who has supported children of all ages use AAC, I have experienced first hand the incredible impact tools like communication devices can have on a child and family’s life. If you're looking for a hand in getting the hang of your child's communication system or curious about exploring tools and tech to boost their communication skills, reach out today!

  • Workshops & Education

I am passionate about empowering others with the knowledge, tools, and strategies they need to support every child's speech and language development throughout everyday life. I've been in action, presenting on various speech-language topics for daycare and preschool teams, school divisions, university courses, community organizations, and more. Want someone dynamic to come speak about speech and language with your group? Reach out today to discuss your needs!

  • Yes! I am experienced and passionate about working with autistic and neurodiverse preschoolers. I can also support your family if/while you’re waiting for a developmental assessment.

  • Yes! I have experience working with children with many different disabilities and developmental diagnoses. The best thing to do is reach out and share your communication goals for your child. If I am not the best fit to support them, I’ll let you know and discuss other options with you.

  • I accept e-transfers only at the end of each session.

  • Yes, you can! We are fortunate in Manitoba to have a range of publicly funded speech-language pathology services for both preschool and school age children that are available for free to families.

Information on preschool-based services can be found through the Children’s Therapy Network of Manitoba: https://www.gov.mb.ca/fs/ctnm/index.html

For school-age children, services are often available through your child’s school or school division. It is recommended you speak with your child’s school directly about available services.

There are a number of reasons why some families choose to seek private speech-language pathology services either instead of public services or in addition too them. What is important is that the SLPs work together to provide a consistent care - which I love to do!
